NEW START DATE FOR EPSD SCHOOLS

Schools to Open September 8, 2008

The first day of school for students attending all EPSD schools is Monday, September 8, 2008. This is a change from the previously published school calendar.

This pertains to all Pre-K students at Bergen Family Center as well as all students of Quarles, Lincoln, Cleveland, Dismus, Dismus Community School, Liberty School, and Dwight Morrow High School/Academies@ Englewood. The change is the result of the progress of renovations at Cleveland Elementary School. Please mark you calendars. A revised academic calendar will be included in the Back-to-School Packet that you will receive in the mail.

School Year Calendar Update

The academic calendar for the 2008-09 school year will be revised at the next Board of Education meeting. Winter recess will be February 16 and 17 ONLY.

Spring recess will be April 6 through April 10.

Grade Configuration Grades 2 - 5

To complete the construction and movement into the new school facilities with the least disruption to the learning program the student populations in Lincoln and Cleveland Schools will be changed beginning September 2008.

Lincoln School:

All students in Grades 2 and 3 (including IVY)

Dual Language Immersion Program students Grades 4 and 5

Bilingual Programs Grades 4 and 5

Cleveland School:

Students in grades 4 and 5 English only classrooms.

Welcome to the Donald A. Quarles Early Childhood Center. The staff at Quarles looks forward to providing students with enriched opportunities to learn and achieve academic, emotional, and social success.
